Dutchland Dulcimers is a group of mountain dulcimer players of all skill levels who gather for the enjoyment of playing the mountain dulcimer and advancing their skills. We meet on the first Saturday each month and range from brand new players, to novice, intermediate, and to veteran players. Even if you’ve never touched a dulcimer and are just curious…you are welcome. One of us can give you the opportunity to try it out….and play a tune.
We focus on mountain dulcimer… however, everyone is welcome. We gather to learn, have some fun and create friendships. Some folks picked up a dulcimer their first time at one of our meetings, and loaners are always available.
When and where do we meet? We meet on the first Saturday of each month, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon. All meetings take place at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 301 St. Thomas Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601. And beginners are always welcome!
What kind of music do we play? We start with easier warmup tunes, which usually include at least some of the songs on this warmup list, which you can download for your own use. Sometimes one of our members will bring in a new song for everyone to learn together, and sometimes we take turns choosing songs to play. No matter how our time is spent, we all have a great time learning and playing together.
Music we will play at the Manheim Township Public Library on September 17, 2023:
